The aim of the present dictionary is to define not just terms from one field of biomedical science but as many as possible of those terms from related disciplines that pop out of the page whenever one reads anything on biomedical science. In fact, were it not that the title is awkward this volume would have been called “A Dictionary for Biomedical Scientists”.
